Overcome the Fear of Flying with EFT.

on board

The fear of flying is very often an issue with many aspects. In EFT terms an aspect is one small element of the larger issue that can act to trigger an emotional response. This is best explained by giving some examples.

Let us imagine that I once went on a flight and did not enjoy the experience. With subsequent flights I hoped that I would feel better, but instead I just felt worse each time. Now I either avoid flying or perhaps have several drinks beforehand, numbing myself enough to cope with the journey. Even so I still feel bad.

Thinking about flying now as I sit at home, what aspects can make me feel uneasy just imagining myself in the situation?

These are just some possible aspects, of my "fear of flying", there could be others. Any of them could link to another (non flying-related) aspect of a situation from my past where I have felt something similar.

So what is the EFT approach that I take in overcoming this fear? Well most of the work is done in comfort with out feet firmly on the ground, so there is nothing to worry about.

No fears

First we imagine ourselves in the situation as vividly as possible and treat each aspect until it no longer gives us any intensity. Whatever else comes up as we go through this process is followed up and treated with EFT. There may be nothing else, but more than likely there will be. Obviously the amount of time that this will take depends on the number of different aspects that there are and any additional complexity.

When the emotional intensity of an imagined flight has been reduced to zero, it is almost certain that the real fear felt on an actual flight will be very much reduced. If you want to make absolutely sure that the fear has gone and you live not too far from the East Midlands airport, we may even be able to take a short test flight together and treat any remaining aspects that might come up. (Internal flights in the UK are usually very cheap in mid-week).
